Add some exotic to the everyday with Nashville Zoo at Grassmere. Wander...

Add some exotic to the everyday with Nashville Zoo at Grassmere. Wander through a lush canopy of bamboo, come face to face with a clouded leopard, feed some Australian parrots, and delve into the far reaches of the Amazon. Nashville Zoo is your ticket to African giraffes, poison arrow frogs, zebras, red pandas, kangaroos, gibbons, meerkats and much more!

Children of all ages will be fascinated with the zoo’s Highlighted Habitats. Find out why a baby giraffe likes warm temperatures. Walk the winding path through 4,500 square feet of naturalistic Australian landscape in the Kangaroo Kickabout. In the Kickabout, you will be in the home of a troop of red kangaroos. Keep your eyes and ears open for the cockatoos that also live in Kangaroo Kickabout.

In between your animal adventures, be sure to take a spin on our Wild Animal Carousel, get a new view of the Zoo from Soaring Eagle zip line, monkey around our 66,000-square-foot Jungle Gym, or even step back in time on the walking tour at our Grassmere Historic Home and Farm. When you visit the 1810 historic home, you will learn about the name “Grassmere” and how the zoo came to be located there.

We went when it was cold so not all animals were out, but this place has almost a 'disney' feel too it. Very good infrastructure, walkways, layout etc. so kudo's to the Nashville zoo...when some of the new exhibits are done will be even better.

Thank you so much for your support and kind words. We are very excited to open all four new exhibits, and we hope you'll make another trip once it warms up a bit to see them! More

We enjoyed our day at the zoo so much and were surprised that the playground was the highlight of the visit. The indoor house for the reptiles and fish is also very good. Lots of new construction going on so it will be fun to see those completed attractions and animals. Some of the displays need some attention...old elephant field... More

Hello Carol, We greatly appreciate your feedback and support! We are so glad you and your family enjoyed the Jungle Gym and Unseen New World. Renovations to the former elephant field are actually part of our current, ongoing construction! We are retrofitting the exhibit to be a new home for Southern white rhinos. That is one of the four new... More

Visited the Nashville Zoo with 2 grandchildren ages 4 and 9. Even though it was winter, temperature was in the 40s and just fine for our visit. It was not crowded, which I loved. Most of the exhibits were functional and animals were out and about. Construction was going on, but did not impact our visit at all. Ordered lunch... More

The Nashville Zoo is a decent zoo located just south of downtown. The zoo is still growing and building new attractions. Depending on how you feel about animals in captivity, the Nashville Zoo does give their animals nice enclosures and have good breeding programs. They have a great educational program. There are usually employees set up around the zoo giving... More

Traveled during spring break here. The tween boys loved the playground - the rope netting and the slides and the sheer size was overwhelming at first but soon we could barely pull them off to see the rest! The "zip line" was a great twist on the adventure - you are in a seat, pulled backward and up, then let... More

The Nashville zoo is a great place to visit for all ages and it's not far from downtown. We had two young ones with us and were able to see many of the animals. Our favorite by far were the kangaroos, where you get to walk around and if they are on the sidewalk you can pet a kangaroo. The... More

So many exhibits closed in winter. Kangaroos were all sleeping, no giraffes to be found. The unseen world exhibit was pretty cool and meerkats are so adorable. Would like to go back when there is more to see.

This was a great zoo to take little ones. It has a petting zoo, carousel, and awesome playground. You could literally spend have the visit just at the playground. And there are plenty of seats and shade for mom and dad to rest while the little ones run around the playground. I was also impressed with the kangaroo exhibit -... More

One of the most visitor friendly zoos we have ever visited. Hang out with kangaroos. Get close up with all the animals.
