A magnificent, enormous cemetery with some of the largest, unique, enormous, and expensive monuments possible. The cemetery has: sphinxes, Pyramids, Greek and Roman temples, a copy of Napoleon's tomb, the copy of the Caryatid Porch from the Parthenon, Gothic, Egyptian, Art Deco, and just about every other style of monument, building, and decoration possible. This should not be missed. The... More

I went inside to get a map of the cemetery, the staff was very helpful. Many of the notable plots are marked. Take a trip back in time.

There is something about old cemeteries that I find so interesting and this one takes the prize for the most interesting of them all. So many prominent people and Civil War soldiers are buried in the old old cemetery. The monuments and grave markers are really unusual. It was a very cool way to pass part of our day just... More

We drove to this cemetery specifically to just look around. If you are in to cemetaries = this was it. We followed the tour stop signs - you might need to bone up on local history - wish we had known more about the occupants. We did find Adealicia Franklin Aklin Cheatem's final resting place - very good!

This is a really interesting cemetary to visit. There are many old crypts that are actually beautiful works of art - pyramids, angels, cannons, and lots of statues. Lots of historical graves from famous Nashvillians and Tennesseans. Beautiful grounds and manicured on terraced hillsides. The smaller Catholic cemetary next door is also very interesting.

If you turn right at the main entrance, you will go up the hill along a narrow winding road. We were worried we would run into someone coming the other way! But this cemetery is large and very peaceful. You feel away from the bustle of the city inside.

This Cemetery is very well laid out and very pretty. Has a lot of fun of history you can learn in one single day. Brenda the lady who works in the funeral home office is very nice and very helpful. It's very much worth a stop by if your coming to Nashville.

We were so glad we stopped here while in Nashville! We started by wandering around aimlessly when two of the curators saw us and took us on a private tour. The things we learned really stuck with us, and was a highlight of our trip! We greatly enjoyed seeing the old and massive headstones, and the crypts. The curators were... More
