The big bucket is the way to go. the boys (9 and 14) had a blast. We spent nearly an hour going through the bucket, and then had a gemologist tell the boys what type of stones they found.

Visiting this was one of my sons only requests in our trip to Pigeon Forge. Terry was a lot of help and talked to us through the entire experience. He was great. All of my son's newly found treasures were identified by the staff. Great place to visit while in Pigeon Forge.

This was a nice way to spend a half an hour. We bought 2 of the $30 buckets and the kids got some nice gems and arrowheads. They were very happy with the experience and the fun they had was well worth the money.

Be prepared to spend some money but the kids had a great time! It would have been more enjoyable if the outdoor heater was working! Staff was helpful in identifying different gems found while mining. We opted for the $100. Bucket and had great finds . Expensive but in line with other mining opportunities.

We had a great time looking for all the "treasures" while we mined for beautiful rocks and fossils. It was just a bunch of adults, enjoying digging in the dirt. :)

We always stop here to mine for stones for the fun of it! It is something that we like to do together and it is really interesting to see just what all you can find.
