We started our day in Townsend. After breakfast, we found the Swinging Bridge. It sit's back behind the Railroad Museum and on behind the wedding chappel. Although it crosses over to a private residence, anyone can walk out on it. There are lots of "Locks...More

We followed the directions that were on Trip Advisor and the directions were wrong. We walked to where the directions said the bed should be and it wasn't there. We were disappointed not to see it.

A great find for the kids and everyone. It really does swing. You can only have 4 people though on it at a time.

If you have never experienced a swinging bridge this one is a good size to start with. The plus is the view of The Little River. If your really lucky, you might get to experience the unnatural man made yellow hatch😱😱👎

It's neat enough and it's free, so plan on spending about 5-10 minutes and check it out. I made it part way across, but realized that it looked a bit run down, so I turned back. My boyfriend went further, but also had the same...More

This is a nifty swinging bridge, but it goes over to a privately owned spot, so one walks across, walks back, and you are done. We spent longer walking to it (from the also free lumber museum) than on it.

We just randomly found this while waiting to go get lunch in town. It was a pretty cool bridge, but I wouldn't list it as an attraction. Beautiful river view and the bridge is nice and jiggly if that's what you're looking for. We noticed...More

Although the bridge was interesting, it was also run-down. It did look like someone had draped lights across it, but as we visited during the day I'm not sure if they were actually working. That being said, it was a decent stop, and my six...More

So romantic. History lover's will love this. When we went no one else was there and its peaceful. He found this bridge years back and surprised me on my birthday by taking me here.

Look for Subway Turn on Depot Ave from Lamar Alexander Parkway towards the river. Miss Lily's restaurant will be on the right and the wedding Chapel is on the left. The swinging ridge will be across the street from Miss... More
