We stayed a little ways away from the parkway so we traveled it at least twice a day for a week and loved the beauty. What was nice about this area was it is a ways away from the crowds and traffic and nice restaurants and shops close by.

More often than not, I am riding the Foothills Pky on a motorcycle. The surface of the Parkway is very good and the scenic turnouts are well placed. This is a must for fall color vistas.

Wow. This road is beautiful, with a lot of scenic views. We were between Cade Code or this, and Im so glad we chose this one. Its not crowed and the trails to the lookout is paved and easy to do. If you want to be away from the crowed yet see beautiful mountain and city views, this is the... More

Such a beautiful drive and the views are fabulous! This ride was better than Cade's Cove! It was nice and not very crowded. Plenty of pull off areas! Great for motorcycles and sports cars!

This is a great way to spend a few hours, especially in the fall of the year with the leaves in beautiful color. If you have enough time, when you get to Lake Fontana, drive the Dragon's Tail, and make the loop. A little long, but worth the time.

The trail follows the creek so not only do the sights feed your soul...but the constant sound of rushing water will have you wishing you could stay longer just to memorize this feeling. You may even find yourself contemplating meditation as a new hobby

My husband and I took a drive on a warm fall day. The views were spectacular. We parked at several locations to hike around various lookout sights. I would highly recommend checking out this area of Tennessee. Beautiful country.

If you've been on the Blue Ridge Parkway and loved it, you'll feel at home here. It's a short ride to the parkway entrance from Townsend. There are no services on this road so gas up and bring water and food if you're taking it slow. Bring folding chairs or blanket if you want to sit and marvel at this... More

One of mine and my husbands favorite parkways. The views are breathtaking and if you're up for a little climb, go up to Look Rock Tower on the parkway.

It was a pleasant drive on our way from the Smoky Mountains back to Asheville but Foothills doesnt have the same scenic vistas or the volume of lookouts as Blue Ridge Parkway. While it's a nice drive, it isn't necessarily a destination luke Blue Ridge or Highway 12 out west.
