I want to keep returning to this sanctuary, the interns, the animals and the property are so impressive. So much to learn here, I would visit daily if I could. Love it there, and saving up supplies like old blankets for my next visit!

The best part of this place was seeing how much the staff really CARES about the animals. From the design of the enclosures to the way they spoke about the animals it was obvious that they are really trying to provider the best home for the animals entrusted in their care.

I love going to lesser-known attractions in Texas and this one deserves more attention. The International Exotic Animal Sanctuary is an excellent animal conservation organization and the animals appear to be getting excellent care. This is not a zoo, although the animals, of course, are all contained by high wire fences. The animals are allowed to roam in large, natural... More

This was our first visit to IEAS and it was great! The staff is helpful and knowledgeable. Our tour was guided by an intern named Sarah and she was very patient, thorough and passionate about her work. We learned a lot from her and highly enjoyed our visit. It is about a two hour walk around the sanctuary, which is... More

Definitely a must for any animal lover. The tour was very informative and interesting as well. All the animals were active for the most part so we got to see everyone. We even saw a bear climb into his own personal soaking tub right in front of us. Another highlight was watching the young, but still very large, male lion... More

We came during Spring Break. We had our 2 teenaged daughters and my 92 year old grandmother with us. Since it was Spring Break, they seemed to be pretty busy, so I would call ahead or reserve a tour online if possible. It is @ a 2 hour walk with an intern as your guide, so make sure you wear... I visited on Dec 4th, and luckily it was still a nice day. The tour guide was good, and was able to tell me about the animals that were at the sanctuary. A few of the animals were sleeping, especially the bears. Most of them were active. They have rescued several white tigers, which are beautiful. This is a guided... More

Brought my 10 year old grandniece here. While I prefer self-guided places, the guided tour was interesting, but we were moving on a schedule in a group. This can be bothersome when you have people who want to talk over the guide or in other ways be disruptive. But the animals are well cared for and touring the kitchen and... More

I thought October would be cooler, but not so this year. Try to time a visit on a cool day or at least the first tour of the day. The site is well secured. One lady in our small group commented it was like entering Jurassic Park. So many of the animals have sad stories, but now they are safe... More
