Take lots of water. This is the trail more people die on in the whole park. Why because they go out at the hottest part of the day, don't take enough water, and don't pace themselves. This is the easiest trail we did in the...More

I hiked this trail on a very low health condition, with not much sleep and not much fluids in my body- but even at that, I loved and enjoyed this very much, the hike back was amazing, the evening colors, everything was so great!

Hit the trail around 9am on a clear day. This is a very easy walk / hike, on a very well maintained trail. The last half mile or so is a little more challenging. At that point there are some rocks to climb and negotiate,...More

This is a flat hike with beautiful canyon walls surrounding you. We went in June and the wild flowers were starting to pop out. This hike takes you to a picnic table to the bottom of the Lighthouse hoodoos. You than take a rock scramble...More

I had a blast. I highly recommend that you set out as early as possible. I started at 7:15 and finished in less than 3 hours even going all the way up to the plateau of the Lighthouse. I got back to my car before...More

You might expect this review to be about nature, beauty, hiking, biking or something like that. The best part of this trail is the people you will meet. This is obviously the most famous trail in Palo Duro Canyon so everyone who goes will walk...More

A relatively simple hike, but it does have a few climbs. Take plenty of water, and enjoy great views!

Super easy short hike that was so terribly over populated it wasn't enjoyable. There were literally 75 or more people in the trail all day. Every time we tried to hike it, we constantly had to stop, get off the trail to make way for...More

Walked the 2.7 miles with my teenager. It was a long walk with a pretty good climb at the end. Good bonding time. Be sure to take plenty of water. The view at the end is worth it.

Plan on about 3-4 hours unless you are a power hiker. The views are beautiful as you trek through the canyon. Weather is getting warmer and they suggest each person take at least 4-5 bottles of water. Make sure you wear good footwear and long...More

Plan on taking enough water for the day. Depending on the weather and time of day heat can be an issue. I'd probably allocate 3-4 hours. Go early you'll see more wildlife.
