We enjoyed this hike over a beautiful warm winter afternoon. The total length if you do the WHOLE loop is 8.5 miles. There are markers to help keep you on track. It's super easy terrain with beautiful views of the lake. There are tons of...More

Many of the reviews of Canyon Lake Park are confusing it with Overlook Park. Overlook is where the dam is on the southeast side of the lake. Canyon Lake Park is the little island/ peninsula with some camping sites, a marina, and the Madrone Trail....More

Don't camp here if you don't want really PRIMITIVE camping. No showers or restrooms at this place. The views are great, but not the best place on the lake for campers.

It's honestly pretty to see. Got an awesome view of the dam, and awesome stroll down the dam. You can choose to hike the entire way or just a small stroll.

On a Sunday driving around in Texas we made a stop at Canyon Dam at Canyon Lake. The Dam and the park are very nice to make a Sunday stroll, we enjoyed it greatly with a lot of other people.

No alcoholic beverages allowed. Just prepare to hike and be aware there is no decent swimming access either. If you have a cooler go somewhere else safe unless you're going to stay up top and just look at the view.
