This really isn't quite what I was hoping, but I'm still happy I took the train to Burnet. This train leaves Cedar Park and arrives in Burnet about 1.75 hours later. There really isn't any scenery to look at on the way, which was kind...More

We did the Octoberfest themed evening trip, and it was fun! It was an evening trip started when there was still some light so you could see scenery on the way out of town, and then got dark. Not a big deal though because the...More

I was hoping for scenic tour and was my first train ride. People let their kids run up and down aisles - the scenery on ride was mostly trash and debris, Train stopped at bluebonnet festival (very briefly-just enough time for lunch) then headed back...More

This is nothing but a train ride on a diesel train. All the stuff touted on there web page is a lie. Nothing to see 75% of the time because of the overgrown trees and shrubbery. TOTAL WASTE OF 3 hours. Thank God it was...More

I took my grandchildren (8,12 & 15)on train to Bertram. None of them enjoyed it and I must say I was a bit disappointed as well. I had gone on the Burnet run some years back with the gunfight. It was lots of fun and...More

We had been researching the various options with the steam train for some time...I really wanted to do the Wine Train...but instead we ended up taking a day excursion with our 22 month old. The station itself was located behind businesses so it wasn't apparent...More

Meticulously restored cars and a small town historic depot make this a time traveler's dream! We rode the Bertram Flyer from Austin suburbs to a small town depot. Relaxing and leisurely- a perfect Sunday trip!

We went on a day trip to Burnet with the Austin Steamtrain, which by the way, is not actually a steamtrain. We paid a little extra to get our own compartment in the first class car. Well worth the extra money. The train ride's about...More

Nice ride. Wonderful snacks. If you get a chance to be a flossie in the gun show, do not pass up that opportunity. Donate to this good cause.

Train itself was clean provided refreshments during the trip. Problem was that a lot of the journey had tall bushes and trees right next to the train, therefore, really limiting the view of the countryside. Once in Burnet, there were a couple small shops open...More

I don't really know. We went to the restaurant before we went on the ride. There is a dinner you can go to on the ride. Sorry I couldn't help you.

Not only is the answer "no" to both questions, you'll be mobbed at the standard lunch places. They're pretty good about keeping things moving, but you're still crowded and rushed. Either bring a lunch if the weather is nice... More
