The largest zoological experience in Texas, the 106-acre Dallas Zoo offers...

The largest zoological experience in Texas, the 106-acre Dallas Zoo offers fun, educational and entertaining experiences for the whole family. The Zoo's mission is to inspire a passion for nature and conserve wildlife, and guests can see a number of endangered species and learn about a variety of conservation projects the Dallas Zoo supports. Opened in 2010, our award-winning Giants of the Savanna habitat is internationally known. The savanna features elephants, ostrich, zebras, impalas, giraffes, and guineafowl, often mingling together. The Dallas Zoo is home to a herd of five female elephants and 11 giraffes, which guests can feed by hand. Guests will see the fastest land mammal on Earth, the cheetah, as well as African lions who often spend their days sleeping just inches away from the viewing wall inside the Serengeti Grill restaurant. The Wilds of Africa area features rare animals such as gorillas, chimpanzees and okapi. Guests will enjoy getting eye-to-eye with African penguins as they swim effortlessly underwater. Highlights of the ZooNorth section include the Lacerte Family Children's Zoo, a top-rated reptile and amphibian complex featuring albino alligators, and the Koala Walkabout, featuring the only koalas in Texas, red kangaroo, wallabies, and a lorikeet feeding area for up-close adventures. For alternative transportation to the Dallas Zoo, consider the DART Red Line, which delivers guests to the Zoo's front entrance.

Good for a Sunday outing.

A fun place to be after a nice brunch. The zoo is small, but it is nice to just walk around and listen to the zoo keepers give talks about the animals.

The zoo is on the smaller side but still a good time. They have the keepers give informational talks at certain exhibits. Perfect for a nice casual Sunday outing.

Since 1888 The Dallas Zoo has provided extotic animals, bird & reptiles for public viewing. This zoo is well above average in offerings for the animals living here their human visitors. A day at the Dallas Zoo is an exciting safari adventure for the entire family, not to mention true one on one family time, along with some great backgound... More

I love going to the zoo in general... but the dallas zoo's upgraded African animal exhibition is top notch. Prior to this upgrade the ft worth zoo was the zoo of choice for those living in the DFW but now the dallas zoo is giving the ft worth zoo a run for its money. The Lions, cheetahs, giraffes, elephants, and... More

Not the greatest or the largest zoo that I've ever been to in my lifetime but I will say that the zoo in Dallas is very good. Had a nice time and the price was fair. The animals appear well treated and their enclosures well kept. The layout of the zoo is particulary nice and we enjoyed our day there... More

Loved the exhibits for the animals. Plenty of viewing areas for kiddos. The park itself is just beautiful. Trees, landscaping, etc. Seems to have plenty of shade, which is great during those summer days.

Had my grandson's 10th birthday party at the zoo and had a great time. All the animals were out. So many things to see and do especially for kids.

Lots of animals but lots of fence makes photos impossible. Dirty glass makes photos difficult. Most of the animals in a natural setting were too far away. Not impressed. We have been to a lot of zoos and this one is not rated high for us. Better than Birmingham zoo but not nearly as great as Atlanta Zoo. It was... More
