The Kessler is an old single screen movie theater that has been gutted and transformed in to a grand showplace. If it's an old favorite or a new act you will enjoy this intimate setting. Great cocktails and bar snacks too.

The reason I say five stars is because this place is awesome for music concerts. The acoustics are amongst the best that I have ever been too. We were in the balcony and near the end of the stage and were literally 10 feet from the performer! How cool is that! The reason i say three stars is because reading... More

Very intimate theater so makes it a great experience. Interesting mix of types of music including some that you likely won't see elsewhere. Can pay for reserved seating (balcony, front tables or front seats). Other is open seating. No area for dancing or really standing. As this is a unique venue with lots of TX talent, I'd recommend and actually... More

As other reviewers have written, this is a really nice vintage theater turned into a music hall. The lower level has tables, but the seats sell out quickly. The upper level (old mezzanine) is u-shaped around the stage with one row of seats on the side and about four rows along the back facing the stage. My guess is that... More

This is by far the best listening room in all of the metroplex, possibly in the state. Not since the Caravan of Dreams has this area been able to enjoy such a fine music venue. The acoustics are superb. The audience, there to listen, is quiet and respectful during the performances. Being an old movie theater (once owned by Gene... More

As soon as we stepped out of the car I knew I would love this venue. It is beautifully lit outside and so nice on the inside. The theatre is intimate and comfortable. I hate standing room only concerts, and a lot of people have complained about the general admission chairs, but I was happy to have one! The lobby... More

Have not been to the Kessler until last night. My Dad said he use to go to movies there for years when he was young. It's now an intimate concert venue. Saw Jerry Douglas. Got the VIP table close to the stage. Lots of fun. Smaller than the Granada but similar set up. Loved it.

The size and seating makes this a wonderful venue for your favorite band! We sat in the balcony and had fabulous seats. Sound was good and not too loud (the place is small). One of the cons we encountered was that it was HOT, until the lead singer pleaded with someone to lower the temp. I saw many people fanning... More

The Kessler Theater is a small intimate venue. A bar area upon entry is the only place to purchase drinks at the venue. Rest rooms on either side of the entry points on the lower floor, and a staircase by the bar to reach the upper seating areas. Free water is provided closer to the 2nd entrance. If you want... More

Recently had the pleasure of seeing Kris Allen at this wonderful theater. The theater is part of thriving renaissance in N. Oak Cliff near Bishop Arts District. The area has tons of great restaurants and some shops and I was very surprised by how much good parking there was near the theater, including free parallel parking across the street. This... More
