I was surprised how much this place had. So much had been saved by the company of items, names, dates, & details. It was like walking through a booklet of the company's history and seeing it too.

Lots of interesting artifacts from AAs beginnings up to now. You can also go inside an actual DC3, "Flagship Knoxville," that was in service back in the 40s.

There's no advertising that I'm aware of for this site and it's also a little off the beaten path so for that reason on most days it's empty. That's really a prefect way to have time to study the exhibits without being rushed along/ Admission...More

I've long wanted to come here as I've always enjoyed aviation. The collection is pretty good. The star attraction is their perfectly preserved DC-3. There's also a good collection of memorabilia from American's history. That said, the collection doesn't flow very well and part of...More

I was very impressed with the heritage collection and archive at CR Smith museum. The airline has done a fantastic job of preserving your history showing "how we got here". It has been updated to include the US Airways history and the heritage of USAir,...More

What a great place to learn about our airline heritage. It's fascinating, and there are nice hands-on exhibits for the kids too. What I really like is the history of my airline (AA). It makes me feel such loyalty, but I think anyone who is...More

This museum is located near the AA campus very close to DFW airport. The museum includes many "hands-on" exhibits and depicts aviation history as well as the history of American Airlines. There is an entire DC-3 within the museum that you may enter. In addition,...More

Is there a way to get to the museum from the DFW Airport on a Saturday with public transportation? A quick google search turned up no results on the weekend.

The museum is only minutes from the DFW airport, so a cab can certainly get you there. I don't know of any bus routes that go by there. Any cab company should be able to give an approximate cost by phone. Avoid the peak... More
