Mardi Gras 2017

We had a great time enjoying the parades and meeting new people. We experienced the morning parade, sat on the beach during the afternoon, and enjoyed the evening parade!

I was last here before 2008. Nice to see everything cleaned up and renewed! Hotel was gone but a great restaurant was added.

Fortunately we made advanced reservations at galvez hotel and spa. View of gulf is beautiful and we can see the pleasure point (sounds a little deviant). Miller's can't be missed. Go see it!

We wanted to spend time on the beach, but because of all of the work being done, it was not open. The city is dredging sand from the gulf and putting on the beach to enlarge it. According to one of the workers they are hoping to have it finished by the summer. If sitting on the beach is what... More

I am a Texas native and have visited Galveston many times over the years. The beach on the Sea Wall is not always the cleanest. You will however find an abundance of wildlife that include jellyfish, shells, birds and see dolphins. There are murals painted on the Sea Wall that are very cool and make for great photos. Parking along... More

You may walk on the beach or on a concrete walk if you prefer not to walk in the sand. There are jetties you can walk out on to get a better feel of the water without getting into the water. It was too cold to enjoy the water so a walk on the sea wall was great. If you... More

Great for people watching and for views of the beach and water without getting your feet wet or sandy.

The Seawall is a raised wall and sidewalk above the beach. Some of it needs to be repaired. Beach area is nothing like Florida beaches. Water is very brown from the trucked in sand. Not a beach I would spend much time at.
