Although the rail trolley system won't be running until possible early next year (but hoping for late THIS year), Galveston has purchased FOUR rubber-tire buses which will be in service as soon as they can be marked with transit insignia. Initially, they will run the...More

Very cheap ride to go around old Galveston and see everything with a tour guide. The tour shows and tells you things about Galveston you would never have know.

However, the City Council - at the urging of local residents and businesses, has approved the renewal and refurbishment of the trolley system, and they should be operational by 2017.

Just a quick note. There is no trolley since it was closed since Hurricane Ike. They are trying to get the money to restart it but for right now, it's gone.

I was hesitant about this. Looked like a tourist trap, but I enjoyed it. The guide was quite knowledgeable and gave us a lot of info on many different aspects of the island. Great for all ages. If you have trouble climbing rather steeps steps...More

On February 27, 2015 the Galveston City Council found the money to begin the repairs on the Trolley system. It should be available for service in 2017 after several miles of track are repaired and the trolleys themselves rebuilt.

It is not a trolley anymore but a jeep that pulls several cars behind it. Sorta like when Astroworld was here and they used to transport people from parking lot to the park. Actually the tour is bigger than the one you got... More
