Fossil Rim Wildlife Center is where Africa comes to Texas. Our 1,800-acre preserve holds a 9.5 mile scenic drive where you can interact with over 1,100 rare and endangered animals roaming free in their herds. Stay in your car, reserve your spot on a guided tour, or even spend a night at our Safari Camp or Lodge to see over 50 different species of wild animals including cheetahs, wolves, giraffes, rhinos and more. The delicious food at The Overlook Cafe is paired with an incredible view overlooking the park and our gift shop offers souvenirs to take home to family and friends. While Fossil Rim is sure to provide a unique experience and exciting adventure, we are dedicated to the conservation of species on the brink of extinction. Fossil Rim conducts scientific research, trains professionals, responsibly manages our natural resources and is committed to public education. We are a not-for-profit breeding center dedicated to the recovery of species in the wild and we invite you to join us in our efforts. Grab your camera and head this way for the scenic wildlife drive you won't forget. Located in Glen Rose, Texas, we are just 52 miles SW of Fort Worth and well worth a visit for people of all ages!

We thoroughly enjoyed our morning at Fossil Rim. So many animals, such a beautiful place. Definitely suggest making this a morning adventure during the heat of the summer for 2 reasons. 1 - you want your windows down and 2 - the animals are more...More

Reading the reviews, I see some other poor soul enter-acted with "Dayja". I am not getting any younger, and need to decide what to do with my estate when I die. I came to Fossil Rim as a paying customer to get an impression of...More

We've been to Fossil Rim several times. It's a great drive thru with a great purpose. To get the best up front and best interaction with the animals it's best to take the guided tour. We will next time!!

Glad you guys had a great time in the past! Yes, a guided tour is the way to go. :)

We had a great time hand feeding the giraffes and getting an up close look at the animals behind the scenes. We got to see the wolves, which you can't see on the drive with your own car, and we got a close look at...More

The staff people are some of the rudest people I have ever encountered. They don't give enough food to feed all the animals, and you better not even ask to purchase another sack. I thought my sister had got the food for our vehicle and...More

I'm sorry your last visit wasn't enjoyable. The feed limit was made by our animal health department. Animals were being overfed, and their health has to come first above all else. You do get more feed on a guided tour. The rest of what you...More

We used to LOVE visiting a Fossil Rim but our last visit on 5/19/17 left us shocked at the negative changes that were so prevalent. First of all, when we bought our ticket "Dayja" rang us up and was very rude and abrupt. When we...More

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the recent visit. The tour route is now 7.2 miles and the feed bags were made smaller due to the request of our Animal Health department. Animals were being overfed. At the end of the day, the health of the...More

Our two-year-old grandson had a blast! We will definitely go back. Very much a family friendly environment and the animals seem to be taken care of very well.

We had a good time. Took my 3 yr old great grandson. Not many animals out. No camels, or llamas. Mostly deer or things from the deer family. We had fun though.

Hello, I'm not sure what time you visited, but in the summer the best bet to see a lot of animals is to arrive near our 8:30AM opening time. :)

Was in this beautiful center with my family members. It was a cold day on December and lot of animals were in their shelter due to bad weather condition. However, we still had a chance to meet some cute species. The were less than 10...More

Our tour guide was excellent. Worth the money. The scenery is superb. June in Texas can be hot, we had a perfect day of 82 degrees.
