The Grapevine Vintage Railroad travels along the historic Cotton Belt Route...

The Grapevine Vintage Railroad travels along the historic Cotton Belt Route between Grapevine and the Fort Worth Stockyards. The Railroad is serviced by two vintage locomotives which include "Puffy" the 1896 Steam locomotive and oldest continously operating steam engine in the South, and a 1953 GP-7 diesel locomotive. Passengers enjoy riding in authentic 1920s and 1930s Victorian - style coaches as they take a step back in time and experience train travel as it was in the glory days of the expanding West. Pull into the Fort Worth Stockyards Station and you'll be right in the middle of the Stockyards National Historic District where the Old West comes alive. Have fun at this outstanding retail and entertainment district.

This is the first time we have done the train ride down to the Fort Worth Stockyards and it was a fun experience. The $26 price per person seems high though. However, if you are staying in Grapevine and haven't been to the Stockyards then this is the perfect venue to do it. We took the first class car and... More

We enjoyed the train ride. The weather was perfect. The train was beautiful. I wish we could have seen out of the windows though---that was a little disappointing. There were a couple of little things that kind of dampened the spirit a little. The Elf that was passing out the Christmas lists didn't give one to my oldest granddaughter (even... More

Second time outing, did this last year also. Our grandsons (12, 6 and 5) had a good time. Train ride is fun and the after show is nice. Lots of activities in the area. Parking was available at the Library with a shuttle, but we just walked it.

For some odd reason, only decided on by a committee of idiots, the windows of each car were covered with Christmas decorative plastic. So, the entire trip we could not see out and were not allowed to open the windows. If we had been told before hand, we would have not purchased tickets (which just happen to be non-refundable.) Come... More

The terminus of this line is right at Stockyard Station in the Stockyards. The track goes right through the building which houses a multitude of stores and restaurants—very touristy. At this point they uncouple the locomotive and send it to a vintage turntable across Exchange Street, where they turn it around and send it down a siding that runs parallel... More

We had family in town with a little one so we decided that she, Lynn, our great nice, should ride the train. I bought tickets on the website, very easy to do, we showed up and all was as promised. Our tickets were waiting for us and all we had to do was board the train. NOTE: When you buy... More

We love this ride. We've been looking for a close to the wild wild west experience, and this one is at the top of our list. My Dad's so fascinated with cowboys that when that part of the ride where the train stopped and that badboy cowboy got in our coach and got chased by a Marshall, he thought it's... More

The vintage train ride was very relaxing. It is a round trip between Grapevine and the Fort Worth Stockyards. There was about a 2 hour layover for exploring the many shops and attractions. The last of which is a real cattle drive down the center of the street. The staff is very attentive and helpful. There is an open air... More

Not very scenic but nice ride for the sake of riding a vintage train. The fact that the seats in First Class reverse so that you can ride facing forward both directions is great for those that can not ride backwards, also great for families so you can talk to one another. Great first time train ride. First Class is... More

We took the opportunity to take tons of photos when the place was empty on a Monday Afternoon. It was great and really felt like we went back in time... I would have loved to see the Glass Blowing but everything was closed on Monday... Have to come on a weekend I guess
