Satisfied my kids craving for the "beach"

We didn't plan a beach trip this year, so my kids compromised on a visit to Lake Grapevine, and they had a great time. The beach here is a bit gravely, but it appears clean. My... read more

Like most public parks in TX, this one has been ravaged by the rains and flooding of 2015-16. Check before you go to it to see if it is open. I have camped at this park and suggest you pay a little more and go to the Vineyards Campground if it is open instead. For a day park, it is... More

We enjoy just being out there on an evening, especially when it's as hot as it was today. A nice park.

Meadowmere is closed, and it is not opening anytime soon. I might venture to say it may never open without significant funding. The flooding in May 2015 devastated the shoreline, campsites, structures, road signs and much more. I spent the morning walking around looking at birds. I found 42 species including Bewick Wrens, Painted Buntings, Neotropic Cormorant, and Mississippi Kite.... More

First visit but due to flooding it is actually very unpleasant there right now. So places are not accessible and there is a terrible smell. I was told that that is not at all the case most times .

You are absolutely right, the flood did a lot of damage to the park. Grapevine Lake peaked at 28' above normal pool level, expanding the shoreline from 60 miles to 146 miles! It absolutely swallowed all of Grapevine's lakefront parks. The park is, and has been officially closed since May. It will reopen once repairs to the gatehouse, roads and... More

We didn't plan a beach trip this year, so my kids compromised on a visit to Lake Grapevine, and they had a great time. The beach here is a bit gravely, but it appears clean. My kids enjoyed digging in the sand, gravel and all. There is a small roped-off area for swimming in the lake, and I think it... More

We came at about 11am on the 4th of July and got a great parking spot. The beach is sandy and clean. There were kayak and canoe rentals available that were very reasonably priced and we had a blast!! There could have been more restrooms available and maybe some picnic tables or more shade available. Other than that it was... More

We just spent 3 days camping in a tent in Meadowmere Park, campsite #58. Great little campsite sheltered by trees on two sides, the beach appox. 100 yards down and only 20 feet from the roadside parking (you don't have to lug your gear too far). We were there Wed.- Fri., so not a lot of folks in the park... More

My husband and I visited with our 4 year old. We went with the intention of renting a kayak for the three of us. I am not sure if there is more than one vendor out there but the vendor advertised on Grapevine Lake's website only has one two person kayak with space in the middle for a duffer. The... More

Next time you are in the park stop by the gate house for your kayak rental. We have plenty of two seat kayaks available for you to take your little one out on the water. Sorry about the confusion with the other vendor. Also, if you want to be sure to get a covered picnic table we would be glad... More

We look forward to seeing you this summer and don't forget we have sports equipment for you to borrow, that way, you can enjoy our horseshoe pits, disc golf and volleyball courts. Just ask our friendly park attendants (it's free)! More
