Wonderful place to look back at the history of Texas and the Indians. The fort is well kept up and preserved to see how they lived. It also has old pictures and a video of the history. Great place to bring the kids.

We drove through Ft. Parker to show my Son in law where we use to come for family reunions and it's just so nostalgic and beautiful. I love looking at the old homes and such. And the park is beautiful! We will be back!

Old Fort Parker is a reconstruction of a private fort that protected several families from Indians back in the early 1800's. The fort has two blockhouses and several houses inside. It is definitely worth visiting!

We learned about the Parkers, Cynthia Ann's kidnapping and about her son, Quanah Parker, who went on to be one of the last Comanche chiefs. It's a nice stop if you are in the Mexia/Groesbeck area.

Old Fort Parker is about an hour south of Dallas. I am not aware of any regular public transportation from any locations to the Mexia/Grosbeck area and the fort.
