A stirring and peaceful chapel offers a place of quiet meditation in the middle of the hustle of giant Houston. Within the Menil complex of chapels and art museum.

Chapel is a quiet octagonal shaped room with benches in the center for people to sit an contemplate. No talking. Rothko paintings are not my cup of tea but Mrs. enjoyed it. Free entry.

It was totally creepy and depressing. The quiet and whole darkness of the place made me so anxious. I wanted to scream but I opted to walk right out. Stay outside.

Very quiet, very serene. A fantastic place to meditate. Rather sad place, however, as the artist took his own life after doing all that painting.

This is my go to place for peace and quiet. If you need a place to meditate, this is the go to place in Houston. At first look, the Rothco paintings just seem like solid color paintings. However, as you sit and open up your...More

This completely innoffensive space seems to offer whatever you want of it. It felt like a calm space where you were able to think whatever you wanted in peace. In daylight I don't think there would be any changing shadows through the lantern ceiling with...More
