First time to an African-American themed theater. This was great fun. A well written and funny play focusing on three women who are at critical emotional stages in their life. The theater is very nice and quite cozy. Every seat is a good one. The actors were top notch and did a great job.

Community Theatre is alive and well as demonstrated by a performance at the Ensemble Theatre of Satchel Paige & the Kansas City Swing. The acting and singing by the cast was superb. The opening number is performed by Anthony Boggess-Glover who could easily be on Broadway. The rest of the cast was a shining combination of acting and singing. Second... More

Professional and entertaining actors. They carried us along through the script, making us feel joy, laughter, sadness. Venue is comfortable and intimate. Lighting and sound system perfect. Loved the play! Will return!

This is a wonderful venue. Small enough so every seat is a good one. This August Wilson play was very well done. I absolutely enjoyed the night. Bravo!

This was our anniversary date, dinner and the theater. To say the show was superb is an understatement. You enter with one attitude and exit feeling so wonderful and so happy. It's a hand clapping, feel moving type of play. A holiday musical time from days of Count Basie to Beyonce. The audience is encourage is sing along, that we... More

We were invited by friends to see "A Soulful Christmas" for opening night. I had never been there and looked forward to this seasonal performance. It was great. Dancing, voices and dancing were excellent, especially the young man who was the star, along with his little sister. Theater facility is great, as people said below. Not a bad seat in... More

Could acting be any better? I don't think so. I've never been before, but we saw Broke-ology, and every moment was spot on. I never felt like I was watching actors. The play was good, but the acting was superb to the point that I'm not sure whether the play was as good as I thought it was. I could... More

We try to attend as many performances as we can, every season. That's how much we think of this theater. Never been to the theater on Broadway, but I feel Broadway has come to Houston on Main St. If you have never attended a play at this venue, well, you should and you will not be disappointed. Also, it is... More

I second everything the other reviewer says about there not being a bad seat in the house and the quality of the performances. Well done each time I've gone. I've even gone with a horrible date and the performance was my saving grace. Get tickets in advance, as they will sell out!

I visit the Ensemble Theatre each year - taking in about three shows. This is one of my favorite places in Houston. It's a very small, intimate theatre - which is great because all the seats are good seats. The actors are phenomenal and each performance comes alive like you are living the life first hand. The Ensemble Theatre has... More
