We spent the afternoon strolling around here, good place to take children to burn off some energy. Perhaps I was expecting it to look a little similar to uk arboretum I visited. Which also has cultivated areas with different species of plants. This just seems to be natural woodlands. There was quite a few families sat on the pathways having... More

We had six hours to kill after disembarking from a cruise ship and heading to the airport so we wanted to walk around and just take in some greenery. Loved this place! Lots of well-marked trails with reminders to stay away from 3-pronged leafs! Didn't see much wildlife but it is getting close to winter. This would be a great... More

I've spent years coming back to Houston, and I never knew of this nature center until now. Tucked away in Memorial Park is a nice, relaxing trails that goes around a wide loop. You probably don't need more than 1.5 hours, and the outer loop is roughly 2 miles, and the terrain is soft and even the while way. Highly... More

I would recommend this for die hard nature lovers and if you have time, after seeing other popular Houston tourist points, especially Citipass points. Free. This is a nature walk, nice trails, we spotted rabbits, squirrels and turtles, many of them. Coming in close contact of real nature, in the middle of a concrete jungle. Good Parking, various activities and... More

When visiting the Arboretum, we at first did not put on any bug spray-- big mistake!! They have complimentary bug spray in the lobby- highly recommend using it! We walked the inner loop to see a pond in the center of the grounds with lily pads, turtles, pelicans and flying fish. It was wonderful. A great day out of the... More

I have been enjoying the arboretum for the past 30 years. It is a fun nature walk and I especially enjoy going after a Sunday brunch. (It is a great way to work off those calories.) You get to see all sorts of plants and animals. I have even see a rattlesnake ... just a baby but that means a... More

Pretty green space within the city, right in the heart of the Galleria and Up-town Houston area. Pretty and accessible , dog friendly. Not a 10 but very nice.

It's amazing that there can be such an unspoiled natural environment so close in town. They've done a wonderful job of preserving and showcasing nature here. Great to take kids to.
