This is a nice small independent theater that shows interesting movies (festival award winners, acclaimed foreign films, and Rocky Horror). It’s old, which makes it quaint and also a bit showing its age. The food and drink is also unique and done differently than other...More

I visited this grand old theatre to see the movie, Victoria and Abdul. I cannot say enought about how lovely it was. They have taken an old theatre and split it up into 4 small screening rooms with a bar upstairs. You can watch the...More

We were in from out of town for medical appointments at TSH and I took my daughter to see a show here. It is a majestic theater, with several options for food and drink, including alcoholic ones. Parking was a snap as well. The holiday...More

We love going to the RO because they don't show "run of the mill" movies. The theater is old and in need of repair but Houstonians and surrounding communities love this little gem. The movies are interesting and often eclectic. Price for snacks are a...More

We went to an afternoon show. It was full and the movie was ok. The seats have seen better days. Needs updating! Does have bar.

They always seem to run the movies I'm most interested in. Different from the newer theaters. It's an old venue but one I never get tired off. They offer senior prices ($7.50) and run three different movies. Seats are comfortable and the sound quality's good....More

Been going here for years as has everyone else but it's still a favorite. Little down-on-the-heel but like anything you love for a long time, it's made the better for it. Wonderful throw-back feel to when theaters were grand, in the lower, large theater. Upstairs...More

River Oaks is the best place for Independent and foreign films in town. I remember it when it used to show two movies a day with features changing every day or two. The theatre has been here for almost 80 years and it is still...More
