Great camp site, large pitch under the trees, woodpeckers nearby, alligators in the lake. We walked the big loop around the park and saw plenty to interest us. Very peaceful.

We did a family campout with our Life Bible Study group and it was awesome! We reserved 5 sites (11-15) for the weekend of April 1-3, 2016. Huntsville State Park is absolutely beautiful! We got there about 9pm on a Friday night and the ranger...More

We rented the shelter. Great place for hiking and bike riding. Very clean park. The first park that I had been to that had a nice iron bench on the hiking trails. No site of gators at all.

The park is very nice overall, with lots to do and has lovely scenery. This was our first trip in our big rig (42' camper) and I wanted to add a review based on that experience. Roads are tight! Lots of trees lining the road...More

Huntsville State Park is one of my favorite places to RV camp and we don't mind bringing our grandchildren. The kids love it! Entering into the Park ~ takes you on a winding road through the vast piney woods that engulf the area. Wildlife is...More

We loved this park. We did several of the trails. The Rangers were very helpful and the trails were well maintained and marked. Our map was easy to follow. We loved how you could start on one trail and cut over to other trails. It's...More

Wonderful place to go for camping, hiking, small boating and MTN biking. I personally go her for the MTN biking and the trails are plenty and scenic. People here camp via RVs, campers and tents and they all say great things.

There is a netted beach area. The fish swim all over and fine to eat if legal size. Yes there are wild critters in the woods & water. Alligators are not friendly and tend to avoid adults. Learn and research them and... More

Headed up this Tuesday with my grand kids for a few days of camping during spring break. What is a good time of day to check in if you want a good selection of available spaces? Don't want to go too early or get there too late. Also do they sell firewood or have some for visitors?

Seems like we arrived at 8 or 9 am on a very busy weekend, and we easily got our top choice for campsite. They do have wood for sale at the park (reasonable pricing) and actually prefer you buy it there ca bring it in.
