FYI people. The statue of Sam Houston and his graveside are not on the museum grounds. Still a must to see in Huntsville, Texas.

Sam Houston loved Texas. But he loved his family more. This park tells the story of the Houston family (who've been family friends of mine for nearly 50 years). I asked my wife to marry me at the steps of the Steamboat House.

Not just the old buildings, moved here as a collection, but check out the special events such as blacksmithing and woodworking which are scheduled on occasional Saturdays.
