I had a couple hours to kill while waiting to check in to my hotel, and checked the GPS to see if anything was close. I didn't realize there was a National Scouting Museum, but found I was only a few minutes from it. As a former boy scout and scoutmaster I found it very interesting. The first room has... More

We had no idea this museum existed. We were in the Dallas area for a wedding and visiting relatives. I picked up a brochure at the hotel for this museum and was excited. We had a little extra time for sightseeing on Sunday (it's free on Sundays!). What a wonderful surprise this was. My oldest son is an Eagle Scout.... More

If you were ever in the Boy Scouts, do yourself a favor and take this tour, take your time and view all the pictures; memories abound.

Along with a friend we visited the museum after business meetings. The facility, next to BSA headquarters, is very large and houses a number of static displays, a theater stating, memorabilia and art. The Rockwell and Csatari wing has the largest collection of Scout artwork, from old original Boys Life covers to the latest from Joe Csatari....really remarkable. The camp... More

Whether you are a scout or not, this is well worth the visit. An absolutely first class, professional space. We went to see the world's largest display of Norman Rockwell paintings. He had the amazing ability to portray human emotions in everyday situations.

The National Scouting Museum is free on Sunday and Monday. It holds a large collection of original Norman Rockwell art and lots of Boy Scout memorabilia. It also has fun activities for the family, like a laser shooting range, pinewood derby track, a cave you can explore, and a free photo booth. My kids and I had a great visit... More

Never heard of this place before this stay. Heard they had over 50 original Norman Rockwell paintings so gave it a shot. I have two grown boys neither Boy Scouts, so wondering how much I would enjoy it. This is a very large building. It is set up very well. There is an art section which does display more than... More

This was my second visit to this museum. It's located on the north side of Irving, not far from the Las Colinas office complex. There is a lot to see in this museum, including paintings by Norman Rockwell, and exhibits about the history of the Boy Scouts, etc. There's also a museum store where you can buy merit badges and... If you have any interest in scouting a trip to this museum is a must see! I have been there a few times and feel amazed each time I visit. It's designed to be interactive and there is something for everyone. Take the time to explore every square inch and stop by the scout retail shop as well.
