A one-hour tour of one of Jefferson's most historic - and haunted - locations. The Grove is an 1861 home that uniquely mirrors the history of the riverport city... and the ghost stories there go back over 100 years. The history of the home is fascinating; it is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and is a Recorded Texas Historic Landmark. Along with the history, though, you'll hear ghost stories from the owners and find out just what it's like to live in a haunted home. Come visit The Grove for a peek into Jefferson's past... and a few residents who may still be hanging around!

We've been to a few "haunted" places. I'd have to say this was the least interesting one I've been through. The owner is very knowledgeable of the history of the house, but not so much as to why it's haunted. He was very enthusiastic with his anecdotes but only one or two were of interest. For the price, you get... More

Thoroughly enjoyed our tour! Beautiful home, and the owners of the home are so welcoming and charming. I feel blessed and privileged to have been able to tour this historic home. Had paranormal experiences from the time I walked in until after I left. This is a MUST do if you're in Jefferson and they are giving tours! LOVED it!!!... More

We had an excellent tour of the old beautiful home. The owner lead the tour and was extremely knowledgeable about the property. We think we captured an apparition near the corner of the house!! A must see attraction in Jefferson!

Step back in time as you tour this lovely home and gardens dating back to the mid 1800's. Mitchell, host and owner of this home, is a wealth of historical information and lives with the resident spirits. He's also written books about the ghosts of Jefferson and its' fascinating history. A must see!

It's very nice of the owners of this "most haunted house in Texas" to open up their home to the public for these tours. The history of the home is fascinating, and the local author who leads the tour does a great job spinning the stories. We didn't see anything out of the ordinary while we were there, but we... More

Our host/tour guide, who lives in the house, was very engaging and extremely entertaining. He is an excellent storyteller and did a great job of painting the picture of life in the 1800's. Very good value for only $6.00!

We took the 1:00 PM tour on a Saturday. The house was charmingly maintained and decorated with lovely antiques, some dating back to the 1700s. The owner took us through the history of several rooms and included multiple accounts of ghostly activity that occurred here. He may have been a bit too focused on the "only good spirits" hauntings, but... More

The owner's of the Grove graciously open their home for tours. They give a lot of history about the previous owners and previous sightings. We didn't see any ghosts on our tour, but didn't really expect to (don't really believe in them). It was fun seeing the furnishings (very period), and hearing all the history.
