This is a great place for concerts and theatre such as Shakespeare plays, etc. I was able to take part in a beauty pageant there when I attended Kilgore Junior College in the early 70's. I escorted some beautiful Rangerettes!

They may not be union members, but who cares. They give high level performances that rival anything you will see on Broadway. The theater is just the right size. Not in a make-do gym, or large barn-like structure with impossible acoustics.

On my husband's birthday, saw Texas Shakespeare Festival Henry V performed its first night (check sked for other performances, think they run whole month of July). We got bench seats $5 cheaper than regular seats that are $30 (attaching photos so you can see; before we went I couldn't find any really good shots of how they looked or worked).... More

Van Cliburn Auditorium is an intimate space for a great theater experience. Having seen Texas Shakespeare Festival Plays for years and all of the Kilgore College Theater plays this year, I can say there's not a bad seat in the house. The seating comfort is top notch, and the versatility of this space allows wonderful creativity for the theater crew.... More

We've been going for years to the TSF. The season usually runs between late June to late July. The musicals are delightful in addition to the Shakespeare. Season Tickets are the best buy. texasshakespeare.com

Well we just had a massive surprise this past weekend in East Texas … The Texas Shakespeare Festival! Growing up in Toronto I had the pleasure of being 90 minutes from The Stratford Festival and was there every summer. While the TSF is no Stratford it has nothing to be ashamed of. We witnessed top-calibre actors performing with passion, solid... More

Nice intimate venue- attended Shakespeare Festival. Be sure to get a blanket if you are cold-natured.

We love this place and attend the TSF. It's wonderful not to big and not to small.
