Lots of walking but worth it!

Great historical site for people of all ages! It would be better to go on a cool day. I would not recommend this for people who have a hard time walking or climbing stairs.

It was interesting to see. We took a self guided tour. Parts of the battleship was closed for repairs but there was still enough to see. Took about an hour to go through.

I visited the ship on 21 January 2017 and participated the Hard Hat Tour. Very interesting. Special thanks to tour guides, really professional approach and friendly people. They even arranged a special Engine Room tour even that part of the ship was closed for renovation activities at the time. Enjoyed very much. I hope you guys keep on good work... More

Absolutely awesome piece of history that travelers of any age will enjoy. A vital piece of 20th Century history that gives the visitor a fantastic insight into the structure and function of a battleship.

I really enjoyed my visit to the Battlehsip Texas. I have not been here since I was in elementary school. I enjoyed reading all the history on the ship. It was good to see that there are men and women trying to save her from the elements! She is an amazing piece of American History!

This well preserved historic ship was built to destroy! While there are many areas off limits it is still an interesting, self paced, self guided tour. There are additional guided tours on offer during particular months. The grand future plan is to remove the ship from the water for restoration works to the internal structures - that would be something... More

The Battleship Texas is very well done. The volunteers are very knowledgeable and obviously love their jobs. The history of this old ship is remarkable. It was built before World War I and was in service in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters during World War II, including the D-Day invasion. We were impressed with how everything was open for... Visited the battleship USS Texas (again) and took the Normandy Tour. The tour focused on the ship's role during the D-day invasion. The tour visited parts of the ship not accessible on general admission, self-guided tours. Dan Fischer did an outstanding narration throughout the tour with rare, enlarged pictures of the action. He is very well versed on the ship... More

Our group booked an Overnight Education Program trip during Spring Break. We had 25 in our party. We got to see sights and learn much more than the normal day tour. I highly recommend a group overnight trip. The crew is so knowledgeable about the ship and were so good with the kids. The cots are a little cramped so... More
