We were looking for something quick and simple to see while in Lubbock. The prairie dogs were so cute! And you can't beat a free activity. You can spend 5 minutes to 30, depending on your interest.

OMG, i fell in love with these little creatures. They are super cute and you are able to feed them. Every time a bird comes around they make a sound to each other to warn one another and they all duck their little bodies.

To watch these creatures in their habitat is amazing. They are entertaining and busy. It doesn't take long to drive to the park and take a look. Certainly a different tour that you will never forget.

We all have "pet-projects" but few would go this far. To save the black-tailed Prairie Dog from extinction, Clapp and Edwards trapped two critters and created Prairie Dog Town in 1935. Clapp oversaw PDT's operation and successful preservation of the cute but pesky mammals until his death in 1969. Amazing what a few good hearted people can do if they... More

My wife loves to go and see the Prairie Dogs in the park. We go there every time we are in Lubbock. Brings back old memories from the 1950's.

These guys take over an area of town and people just come to see them peek out of their holes. Couldn't stay too long.

This is a very god place to spend your time in Lubbock, Tx.; you can watch in their habitat a lot of Prairie Dogs, they are very friendly and you can get closer to them.

Its a great place to spend half an hour and watch the animals. Most prairie dog towns have been destroyed by the Agri business, thus few opportunities to see a bit of unique American natural habitat.

Daughter loved it. The animals are pretty cute. It's a good way to spend 15 minutes but that's about it.

Prairie Dog Town is inside McKenzie Park, right off the highway and easy to find. We went in the morning and all the prairie dogs were sitting up, looking around. We forgot carrots but improvised with a granola bar, that worked! After trying to infiltrate the critters bypassing the fence, one called the warring and they all quickly hid, I... More
