You can easily rent a Kayak or canoe. kayak for 2 people cost under $50 per full day. April 2017. It is rented by individual entrepreneur not park. Just ask for his phone number... More

Thank you for your recent visit and review of our park. Unfortunately, water & electric campsites are fairly close together as they had to be built on a small hill above the floodplain of the creek. Primitive tent campsites are more spaced out along the creek bank; however, they are currently closed for repairs from flood damage. Canoe/kayak rentals are... More

We drove through this park, hoping to find a place too camp close to our home. The park has extensive hurricane damage that has not repaired. Unless you are a boater/fisherman, there is no pier or good bank fishing. This use to be a beautiful park.

Thank you for your recent visit to the park. Currently, only the walk-in tent campsites are still closed for repairs from recent flooding-all other facilities are open. All repairs from Hurricane Rita (2005) and Hurricane Ike (2008) were completed several years ago. Note-it will take the forest many more years to fully recover from these hurricanes even with our help-this... More

Village Creek State Park is not known for its spacious camp sites, but they're serviceable. , if a bit too close together. The bathrooms were SO CLEAN!! It's not often you get a state park with such clean restrooms. We did some kayaking, and a hike or two, but mostly sat around the campsite enjoying the company of our family... More

We managed to get the last site on a holiday weekend and realized why... as well as why no one we talked to had heard of it. This is a very small campground with only about 20 sites. All which are very close to each other. It would be good for groups wanting to be close... but when you're alone... More

Wife and I stayed at this park and had some decent camp sites that were close to each other, but enough trees and brush between the sites to give some seclusion feeling. After our trip, we itched for a week due to red bug (chitters) all over our bodies and we didn't venture out too far in the wooded sites... More

Day use for Village Creek State Park is $3 per person. We hiked the Village Slough 1.2 mile loop trail. The Park office told us that a lot of the trails were closed due to recent flood damage. Trails were level with some wet spots, and through mostly heavy vegetation and trees. There was really not too much to see... More

We enjoy the many programs that this state park offers. They have extensive paddling trails and good hiking trails as well. We recently went on a guided Night Hike and learned a lot about the park after dark and nocturnal animals. I would recommend to anyone with an interest in the outdoors.

What a treat this State Park is. It's right in the middle of a small town that has absolutely everything you'd need yet feels remote. The creek is great for canoeing or kayaking. There's a nice cabin, RV spots, and remote tent sites plus regular tent sites. The workers are always nice. The trails are great and there's lots of... More

Taking a canoe or kayak down village creek is a treat. Many white sand bars to stop and enjoy. Village Creek is beautiful.
