We did not see any of the famous lights, the location is beautiful, facing beautiful open area with mountains 180° in view, we stayed overnight in our RV beside the road, I wouldn’t recommend staying here in your RV, it’s extremely loud, cars are literally...More

The viewing area is just out of town so there is no light pollution. The stop is clean, has bathrooms and binoculars. Well done and so unusual to find a stop so clean and well cared for.

It's nice that they built this spot, but I have a feeling we'd have had a better chance of seeing the lights if we'd been farther from the highway. Or maybe if the weather had been different. There is a patio area with benches and...More

I saw them last summer. It was 2 or 3 in the morning. I’d just downed the last drops of a bottle of mezcal and the worm told me to look south. There they were... small white, yellow lights dancing on the horizon. It’s a...More

Cold and misty Jan night so probably not a good time. I’m a natural skeptic but I’ll give it another go when it’s a bit warmer.

We definitely saw the lights. It’s 3 different small white lights that move and flicker. If you didn’t know otherwise you would think it was people in the distance with their cell phone. But they have been seeing these lights long before electricity.

If you are in the area it’s a fun evening at the Marfa Lights Viewing Area. Restrooms are available and a viewing area to see if you can see the mysterious lights. We were there on a very cold night so we couldn’t stay too...More

Totally cool. I remember my mom talking about the lights when she was young visiting family out in Marfa during the 1940's... So during a recent visit, I decided to venture out to the viewing facility. Sure enough, there were the lights. Saw four different...More

Don't expect a wild adventure. You may or may NOT see anything. A fun after dark activity. Bring a picnic, warm clothing and something to sit on.

Looking for the Marfa mystery lights is fun if you are patient and don’t mind searching the night sky. I only gave this 4 stars because we had better luck in our car and on the road than we did at the actual viewing center....More

It's open all the time because it is basically a roadside park positioned to give a good view of the lights. The lights come out at dusk so don't go there during the day.....you won't see them then!
