The Dinosaur exhibit was fantastic. Life sized Dinosaurs coming to life, great photo ops for the family. All set up on a hiking trail. It was lots of fun. They have a mini zoo that several interesting animals and a small western town replica for the kids. Inside the museum's main building there are several interesting exhibits along with a... More

Take the kids and get outdoors. There are some nature displays with some animals and reptiles to gawk at that are very interesting. There are well groomed easy paths to walk around in a variety of distances. There's a little mock village for the little kids to explore. We've taken both sets of grandparents and kids from 2 to 18.... More

We have bought membership for $80, just minutes later I fount out that there is a groupon for $40. When I asked sales ladies they were not nice about it. I'd rather donate money and do it willingly. Staff handle the situation very poorly, I feel cheated. Not a nice way to welcome a new family into the museum and... More

For parents and grandparents, the Heard Museum is a wonderful place to take the kids. There are year-round family activities, including summer camps and special events like the Dinosaur Exhibit every fall. The Heard has a wonderful Natural Science Museum that is well-arranged, educational, and kid-friendly. There is also a Wildlife Sanctuary area. Plan a family outing and take a... More

Our grandkids LOVED it. They are 3 and 5. It was so realistic for them with the animatronics. Lovely walking paths also with a mix of sun and shade. We will be back for sure!

Loved this museum and wildlife sanctuary. We went during the dinosaur exhibit and it was great. The dinosaurs are lined along a gravel path (need a heavy duty stroller to navigate the trails, DO NOT bring a stroller with small wheels, there are tons of small steps, cracks, and navigating around bumps that will make your life miserable in an... The museum is a good size, not so big the kids will lose interest. The annual dinosaur exhibit is popular with the kids, but creates a lot of noisy foot traffic that takes away from the normal outdoor experience. Lots of wildlife call the refuge home and it's easily viewed from trails and boardwalks. Trails aren't too long or difficult,... More

Took our Grandson to see the Dinosaur Exhibit at Heard Museum. It was outdoors along the nature trials. They had lots of signs to watch out for poison ivy, but I think that was to keep you on the trials. They also have some animals and a butterfly house.

Thank you for your review. We hope you enjoyed the Dinosaurs Live! exhibit. Regarding the poison ivy signs, the Heard, off the trails, has a great deal of poison ivy as well as poison oak and even some poison sumac--perhaps more this year than I've even seen in previous years. Many people are allergic and it's appropriate that they have... More

The grounds are clean and the guides are friendly. Great hiking trails. The weather in the area is normally very nice. Lots of shade to stay cool. August is pretty hot but the rest of the year is great!
