The palace is impressive, but the surrounding buildings are in very poor conditions. It is a large complex, but the facade is in disrepair. Urgent maintenance work is needed.

If I could have been looking at this scene several hundred years ago, what would I have seen? The imagination runs riot. Soldiers in formation marching to display their skills. Or, horse parades. Or, ladies and gentlemen parading around on a Sunday in their finest....More

Although you cannot enter these buildings, you should walk the incredible arcades. If you get the sun right, you'll get some amazing photos with light and shade. The arcades seem to go on forever! On a hot summer day, you sure need the shade.
