Horse show at Chateau Talmont

Worth seeing the horse spectacular if you have younger children. Pretty little castle with basic facilities.

We went to visit as a last minute choice for a day out as it was cloudy. We all love historic sites and interesting buildings. Although our visit was just out of high season, there was still plenty to see. The price reflected that a lot of the extra shows had finished (€20 for four inc. audioguides). The lady on... More

This really is a bit of a hidden gem. For just over €30 for a family of four, we got 5 1/2 hours of entertainment. The site is full of activities for the kids, and none of them cost extra (something for UK tourist sites to learn!) and they are all set up for English speaking as well as French.... More

Pleasant afternoon spent at the castle, we took the 'English' tour late afternoon and whilst it was in English the hurried speech and strong accent made the majority of what was being said impossible to understand. Castle is a ruin with sections that remain which can be climbed. The height and views are impressive with a birds eye view of... More

The castle is a ruin and contains no artworks, it is however largely intact and tours run throughout the day in both English and French. The main body of the castle is accessible only by steps. There are limited refreshments available and of course a gift shop. Shows are performed at set times throughout the day, we saw the Richard... More

We visited the castle when the shows weren't on... This meant that it was lovely and quiet and we could explore at our leisure. Great day out!

We visited the Chateau on a Sunday afternoon, and although it's got some excellent views, there were no tour guides or any or the re-enactments that they have on during the week. The price was reduced to make up for the lack of content for the visit. The views from the ramparts are excellent.

we visited the chateau on a grey day and had a fantastic time. There was a spectacular show recreating the life and time of Richard the Lionheart including jousting, sword fighting and drama. It is narrated in French, so I didnt catch all of it, but it didnt make any difference, it was very visual. we then did the free... More

If you have young children this was an excellent day out, it cost 30 Euros and wee spent 4hours wandering g round d, there are two different shows Monday to Friday, falconry and horses. Children can ride horses, have a go at calligraphy, wear medieval costumes and play games. Take a picnic as there is no food for sale but... More

Went yesterday with 3 children. Only those under 12 count as children, so I had to pay adult price for 4 of our party, total fee was 55 euros. For that fee it was a rip off. Did the tour which was good, but there ain't a lot to see there for 55 euro notes. Unless you enjoy seeing bits... More
