The place itself is not very special as it's just a rock in what is considered to be a shape of bear, thus the name in Italian. The shape is most obvious from distance and best observed from several seaside locations at the nearby hotels, adding to the great and spectacular scenery. When you go up the hill, and it's... More

Its a great visit, with great views. Not so much walking, definitely worth to go with kids. Parking is also relatively cheap. Would be better with some more shops or bars in the near.

Once you get to the top and get close to the "Bear" you can't see the whole rock formation as one but you can walk under it's belly and have amazing views out over the water. If you walk up next to the fort you can get a pretty good view of the whole rock. The walk is pleasant but... More

Even though I read here this trip isnt quite worth your money we still went on a rainy morning. It's nice enough but not worth the fees.

We saw the bear shaped rock whilst crossing from La Maddalena to Palau on the ferry, and decided we had to try and get to it.. Little did we know it was a recognised rock formation created over time and finally which favours a great bear - everyone knew about it and it's a visitor attraction - we enjoyed a... More

The Capo d'Orso rock formation is worth a visit if in the Northern area of the island. It is accessible for kids as well. There are benches on the way up/down for rest. Views are worth the climb. There's ample parking, and a portable (single) restroom facility at the entrance.

Great spot and wonderful panorama. The lady at the till can speak English and French and is lovely. This is 3€ per person and 3€ for the car park but it's worth to go.

This is bear shaped rocky area with nice views on sea-shore, neighboring islands like Maddalena. Entrance fee EUR 3.

You wont need much more than an hour to visit, but it's a lovely easy walk up to the top of the rock. There are several benches to pause at on the way up, and notices explaining the flora and fauna. The views at the top are absolutely stunning and there are labelled photographs indicating the places you are looking... More

Yes it doesn't really look much like a bear. And yes it's a bit annoying the way you get charged 3 euros on the parking lot. But the additional 3 euros per person (children are free until 11 yrs and 2 euros until 18 yrs) really aren't too much considering that this site needs to be maintained and manned. It's... More
