With its emphasis on the western novel and the West in general, the Haley library is a small but inviting place to do research or browse the Holdings on the American West period

If you interest in seeing collections of spurs, saddles or pistols, this is the place for you. If you are a researcher looking for information on cattle ranches, ranchers, or political figures, you can't go wrong. Great reference staff and row after row of documents/

The Haley Memorial Library and History Center was absolutely amazing. I am a researcher and the staffed rolled out the red carpet for me including a tour of the facility for my friend. There were so many unexpected treasures here. The collection is very well organized and the staff extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I highly encourage anyone studying the history... More

Located off of the main streets of Midland but next to the Museum of the Southwest, This is a true Texas treasure that many are not aware of. The information on the ranch history of Texas and the west is second to none. It's a must see.

This is an unexpected treasure. A fabulous research library with information on the cattlemen of the west. If you want to write the next definitive cowboy novel, you need to spend time her like McMurtry did for Lonesome Dove. There are also historical artifacts (the Alamo bell) and magnificent art pieces from Remington to Goodnight. If you find yourself in... More

This museum is a jewel in Midland. You can learn about the old west, surrounded by beautiful art exhibits. There is educational history of the old cattle trail drives and original saddles and clothing of cowboys. The head of the museum, Pat McDaniel, can answer questions about Midland or the old west. It is worth a visit-not to be missed.

This was cool. Great way to learn a little more about Texas and Midland. We enjoyed it and learned a lot...beautiful building too. Great spur collection that we all really enjoyed talking to one of the employee's about too.
