We stayed across the street at Bentsen Palms RV Resort and road our bikes within the state park often. Nice flat roads. Clean restroom half way in, near the Resaca -Oxbow lake. Saw birds, bobcat, javelinas.

Hike, Bike or trolley around, wild pigs in the area just do not disturb them and they will leave you alone.

Very friendly, knowledgeable staff, nice area to ride bikes, with frequent rest stops. One can go fishing here but must walk a ways to get to the water(no outside vehicles allowed). Gift store with good selection of nature books, T shirts, cold drinks.

Mission Biking and Hiking trails are okay. Flat terrain. Quiet. Simple. Healing the herons and Canal water. A shooting range within the distance. The most outdoorsy place I found in this area.

There is a paved road throughout this park, but our fears of immigrants wanting to cross the river without inspection have led to this park being walking only, and if you go when there is no tram running, you have to walk, in high heat...More

This park has much to offer the dedicated hiker, biker, bird watcher and nature lover. Several trails meander through lush, South Texas flora, and allow you the opportunity to observe many examples of native wildlife in their habitat. For an absolute pleasant experience, though, don't...More

By the time we visited in mid May they had stopped maintaining the feeding stations but there were still a variety of birds around. Be prepared for the hot weather and stay hydrated.
