Saint Francis Wolf Sanctuary is dedicated to rescuing and caring for non-releasable wolves and wolfdogs, providing them with a stable, loving, and exceptional home, with an abundance of loving and compassionate care. We provide all of our animals with regular, balanced, nutritious meals; exceptional veterinary care; safe and comfortable sources of shelter; frequent enrichment; and, when appropriate, human or canine companionship. We do not buy, sell, or breed any animals.

We also support educating the public about issues involving wolves and wolfdogs, and dispelling the many myths that surround these frequently misunderstood animals. Through guided on-site tours, visits from ambassador wolfdogs, off-site presentations, and other outreach avenues, we provide accurate, engaging information about wolves and wolfdogs, conservation issues, and the downsides of exotic pets.

I visited here, for the second time, during Spring Break. There was a different interpreter both times, so this time, I got a slightly different perspective from the first time. The first time, we were all adults, and, at the end of the tour, we actually got to pet a wolf-dog. This time, there were many children, some of whom... More

We really enjoyed learning about the wolves and the wolf-dogs. The staff did a great job educating us on them and showing us around. Both of the kids enjoyed it.

We heard about this place from our condo owners who were kind enough to have a list of things to do in the area. This is a short distance from Lake Conroe where the busy streets turn into a beautiful countryside. The sanctuary tour takes about 1-1/2 hours and is very informational. You get up close to the wolves/half-wolf-half dogs... More

We visited the St Francis Wolf Sanctuary with my 6th grade girl scout troop. We had a nice time touring the facility and learning about all the wolves and wolfdogs they had. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable about animals. They seemed well taken care of. They are currently raising money to build a new, better facility for the... More

Visit the Sanctuary 22-Jan-17 and had a great time. Very knowledgeable staff, we went inside one of the enclosures to meet some of the residence! We had a really great time. We will definitely return!

Visited with our Grandchildren who enjoyed very much. They got to view the animals and even pet one. The Guides provide a good talk on the wolves/wolf dogs - how to identify, natuarl tendencies, ect. All the animals here are wolf-dogs or just big breeds of dogs. This is a private reserve with no fancy ammenities, very rustic so if... More

We had company from out of town and went to the wolf sanctuary. Located in a beautiful setting in Montgomery County, this is a place we will visit again. Not only are the animals beautiful, the volunteers are very knowledgeable and ready to share what they know about wolves and wolf dogs. Drew was a great tour guide and we... More
