The animal world and snake farm zoo is one of the best variety of snake species. The zoo also has several other attractions and is especially kid friendly. All of the staff at the zoo are more then excited to educate everyone walking thru the door. If your looking for a great selection of snakes and animals or just an... More

One of my favorite places to visit in the Austin/San Antonio area. Always seem to have new additions, including babies. Although we remember the original "Snake Farm," Eric Trager has added significant wildlife, including extremely rare white lions. From time to time, the staff will permit behind the scenes access. The petting zoo is great for kids (and girlfriends).

It is absolutely worth going to animal world and snake zoo, there are so many varieties of snakes, but the only issue we thought was the small space. Also there was a petting zoo, which the kids loves it, but there are no short programs of animals, if they have it, I am sure it will attract more tourists.

I took my ten year old daughter to this zoo. The zoo is small, which I enjoyed. If you go you have to stay for the feeding of the hyenas, wolves and cougars. I learned a lot about them. Things I would have never learned in a big zoo. The feeding is up close and the keeper explains things to... More

This place is great. The building with the snakes themselves is easy to get around and all the snakes are visible and clearly labeled. In the back are some toads, spiders and baby snakes, bearded dragons and the rattlesnake pit. Outside is the zoo and you really get close enough to touch the animals if you wanted to. They all... It seems that the majority of the animals don't have enough room. The wolves were obviously stressed, they were just pacing and pacing. Young boys had taunted the hyena to the point that he was lunging at the fence and showing his teeth. I feel staff presence should be more prominent to redirect guests with no home training. There weren't... More

The animals are exotic which makes this small zoo better. They did say they were in the process of expanding and getting some more animals which I think they definitely need more space. We used a Groupon which I recommend it if you can get one but be advised they charge you the tax when you get there. The animals... More

This is just a small zoo/snake farm; mostly snake farm, but what they lack in funding compared to more traditional zoos they make up for in the experience. You get to watch and interact with the keepers as they hand feed the lions, or overcome your fear of snakes by holding or even just touching one, or you can partake... More

Interesting older attraction in Central Texas! It has taken on a face lift with new management. Much more than just snakes and retiles. It is a small zoo environment, therefore, great for birthday parties and field trips. Area is controllable for groups or classes.

This Snake Farm has grown up to be a real zoo! Once you get past the smell of the snakes indoors (admittedly I'm not a snake fan to begin with), the animals outside are interesting and accessible, with some roving freely. Kids LOVE the petting zoo - especially the llama! You can also find some beautiful geodes in the gift... More
