Exhibits rich in local artifacts, photographic images, maps and documents take visitors through the history and cultural heritage of New Braunfels and Comal County.
The archives is one of the largest repositories of information that chronicles the German immigration movement to Texas. Its extensive collection includes more than a million photographic images, newspapers dating from 1852 to the present day, more than 2000 oral history recordings, thousands of original records, government and church records, and genealogical information.
Additionally, at Sophie's Shop, you will find the finest German and European glass Christmas ornaments and traditional decorations and a large selection of history books, New Braunfels collectibles, and children's toys.
