Very nice park. Great restrooms. Clean beach. Pass required. Depending on time of year great for shelling. Lots of pretty birds. Great for long beach walks.

I guess we were ok with the drive to the park. Was a cold windy day so a drive was nice. Drove on the beach watched the waves. The park rangers were very nice and informative.

... for an RV stay. The RV area is adjacent to the park HQ, and is heavily used, at least on February weekends. There are several different beach areas, one of them an easy walk from the RV area. Park facilities appear to be in good repair, with volunteers doing a lot of the work.

I have stayed at Mustang Island SP several times. It is a few miles south of Port A, probably about a 10 to 15 minute drive, so conveniently close enough to town for me, but away from the crowds. The beach access is a couple hundred yards from the campground, you can drive up to it rather than drag all... More

Beautiful and scenic drive. Keep on the look out for wildlife! Fee was reasonable. Did not stay in campground.

Beach. Fishing. State park camping. Water, electric, pets. Clean. Quiet. Showers. Dump station. Usual weak slow wifi. Inexpensive Wish all states did as well with their RV camping. Still we need better wifi.

We spent three nights in site #16. The RV parking area was a lot bigger than I had envisioned based on the comments of other reviewers -- it looks big enough to land a plane down the center of it. We didn't have any problems with electric/water hook-up. Sites 16 & 17 have the most privacy due to a green... More

We searched out this beach. There are 40+ RV sites with connections, but you better make those reservations in advance. They also have 100 of what they call primitive sites where you can drive onto and camp on the beach. With our 7000 lb Sprinter van, we were not confident we would not get stuck on that beach, so ended... More

My wife had never experienced actually driving out onto the beach. With the $12 beach parking permit we could park anywhere but in the dunes. And so we parked at the high tide mark and unloaded our bicycles. We had a wonderful ride and enjoyed the friendly atmosphere.

Overall, we had an amazing time camping on the beach of Mustang Island. For January, the weather was super lovely. The beach was well maintained, with hardly any trash to be seen. We chose the farthest campsite toward the Padre Island border and loved being secluded. The dunes made a great natural barrier for our tent set up and everything... More
