Don't rush through this place. Stop and really look at your surroundings. Things to see may be a small bird going nose to nose with a snake, a mother bird grabbing a fish and feeding it to her chick or a rodent working its way...More

We went to this birding center which is located next to the Waste water plant, so yes there is some smell. And you're walking on a walkway out over the treated water that attracts birds and fish and gators because there is so little fresh...More

This is a good bird site and coming back frequently probably lends itself to some good variety of birds. It's fairly small though and right next to a water treatment plant. If there are any people when you visit there, you probably wont see much...More

We have visited many times but this was our first opportunity to see American Coot chicks and Gallinules chicks. They are cute!! We visited around 5:30 p.m.

My only issue with this place was the wide expanse of oil rigs and industry feel at the entrance as well as in the distance. Besides that, this is an excellent place to view the salt marsh and animals in it. It is free, too.

Port A. has provided several excellent locations for birding and this is one of the best! Boardwalks, viewing tower, and walkways take right among the marshes and trees and provides great birding opportunities!

For the cost of an honor system donation, you can get up close and personal with the island's native wildlife. Some varieties are only found in this area. There is a boardwalk that takes you about a quarter mile in to salt marsh. There is...More

Not a huge place but very pleasant walk and excellent birding site. We didn't see any of the resident alligators this visit but did see a variety of water fowl.

It has been years since I was last here but there was a cold front that came through while we were here for Sand Fest so I wanted to come and see what was stopping over during migration. Man were we surprised. Lots of colorful...More

NO dogs, please. Not at this small locale. Birders are trying to see lifetime listers; you will be ousted. Follow other directions above for dog care. Mustang Island dogs okay.
