A Look into the past. Well kept mansion. Events throughout the year to include Murder Mysteries, Christmas candlelight tours, etc. Being a member has it's advantages of free admission. Special events are at a member reduced rate. The Fort bend Museum includes Historic mansion, Museum, Historic house, George ranch.

On April 16, 2016, I visited the Fort Bend History Museum in Richmond, TX. The location is very relevant to its name since it focuses primarily on what happened around the area. It was a miniscule, walkthrough gallery which lasts around 2 minutes if you walked around it in a complete circle. The gallery itself was very effective based on... More

Small Museum with plenty of items to see and information about the local area and it's history. It was a very interesting trip but we didn't check out the tour times before we went so missed out on seeing the inside of the house which was disappointing. Next time i am in the area i will visit again to see... More

Our history is important and to have a museum dedicated to the history of the Fort Bend area has incredible value historically and culturally. Every Fort Bend resident should support this museum.

This a beautiful home that holds treasures from Texas' long and interesting history. This is a great place for a field trip for adults and children. This is also a great place for teachers to take children for a field trip. They have many hands on activities which keep the students involved.

Visited the Moore house last night while attending Miracle On Morton Street. I am a native, so I am biased. I love Richmond. That said, the Moore house was all done up in 50's style this year to celebrate Christmas seasons gone by. There were holiday lights up the sidewalk leading to the big front porch. A garland around the... More

Step back into the past and learn the interesting history of Fort Bend County. I highly recommend visiting the Candle Light Tour the first weekend in December. It has been a family tradition of ours for over 20 years to kick off the Holiday Season. The Moore Home is beautifully light with candles and decorated with period furnishings. Really gets... More

Being Texas history enthusiasts, my husband and I stopped here on a recent visit to the area. The museum is well-laid out, not overcrowded with memorabilia. The progression of history is easy to follow with the displays and layout of the museum. Included in the admission is a tour of two homes located on site. The docent who guided our... More

This museum may not be modern and beautiful, but it is full of interesting information about the history of Fort Bend County. Fort Bend was one of the first areas in Texas to be colonized. Stephen F. Austin's original 300 families who got land grants settled here. You can also tour the adjoining Moore Home, which is in its original... More
