Rising above the Aransas Bay and surrounded by stately live oaks, the Fulton Mansion is located in the resort area of Rockport-Fulton. The house must have appeared incredible in 1877 with its mansard roof and ornate trim. Interior gas lighting, flush-toilets, and other refinements were progressive and luxurious elements for this part of Texas. Today, visitors journey through the restored home, getting a glimpse into the life of an affluent family in the late 1800s. Learn about 19th century innovations, walk through Harriet's garden, and hear stories of living in a grand Victorian villa.

My wife is a retired history instructor so I knew she'd love this. Unfortunately we didn't do due diligence. We missed the afternoon tour by seconds, but that also meant we had a tour group we had to work around. We used the app for narration, but quickly realized we had not allotted sufficient time for our visit to listen... More

Guided tours of this attraction enhance the experience. Completely furnished with the original belongings of the Captain & his family. The construction of the mansion is detailed with many one of a kind techniques. The mansion features furniture, clothing and household items of the period. The bathroom is a must-see.

Great old mansion recently renovated. Great history lesson about the area. Small fee to tour the mansion that helps support the continuing conservation efforts. A definite must see if visiting the area. Very nice, personable and knowledgeable staff. I will go back next time in area.

The Fulton mansion is absolutely worth a guided tour and is a bargain at $6 per adult. This house is truly unique in a beachfront location, and has survived 7 direct hit storms or hurricanes! Do the guided tour - our guide was very informative about the family who built it and just the whole history of Fulton Rockport. Beautiful... More

Spent the afternoon walking through this awesome restored home. The people that work there were very informative and friendly. The online audio tour is done very well. Enjoyed the connection of Ohio and Texas history!

Just wandering around and stumbled upon the Fulton Mansion. Very interesting tour and was nice to get some feel for the history of the area. Very well preserved and maintained old residence. Very worth the price.

We had a very knowledgeable tour guide who obviously enjoys her job. She shared interesting history with us as well as answered all our questions about the mansion. I definitely learned a few new things on this tour.

Was a great experience the people working here were very helpful and knowledgeable about the history behind the house. Was a little disappointed that the new restorations were not at all like the old house it once was.

We enjoyed our visit to the Fulton Mansion. You can tour it as a self guided tour and there are volunteers to answer questions. The information center where you buy your tickets also has additional historical information and a few hands on activities as well as a gift shop. We spent about an hour there and all enjoyed it. Unexpectedly,... More
