Excellent place to visit to see how the army lived in the old days. There is a big "festival" in December...enactment of army life at the Fort. People visit from many places.

We had read about Fort Concho, and decided to go out of our way to visit. The office area and intro. film were good. We walked around and into all the building which were open. We visited overall for about an hour. I wish there had been an option for an audio tour -- just a suggestion!

Although we attended this location during Fort Concho Christmas and it was raining and cold at time; this is an attraction not to be missed. The fort has been restored to most of its original standing. There are plans to improve and redo destroyed buildings also. The staff is knowledgeable, friendly and helpful beyond what you expect at a historic... More

Although we attended the Ft. Concho Christmas, and it was cold and rainy at times, the experience was fantastic. The forts staff were very friendly and accommodating in every way. The fort has been preserved and plans are in the works to rebuild building previously destroyed. This is certainly a MUST see place I'd you are in the San Angelo... More

Lived in San Angelo for nearly 30 years (been gone now for a year), but this is one of the places we would always take visitors. Many of the Buffalo Soldiers called this place home. At one time Robert E. Lee was commanding officer. The telephone museum located in an "officer row home" is intriguing. They have various programs during... More

Well organized and presented. Presentations were well thought out and a lot of information could be found at each location. Phone museum was also good.

Wonderful place to see and learn about our heritage. Still being restored. Christmas at the Fort is the first weekend in December and is quite fun. Lots of activity for everyone.

History buffs will like this place. Located along the Concho River many of the buildings are open to the public. Buffalo Soldiers ruled here and aided in the Indian wars of the west.

Not the best fort I've visited, but certainly well worth the small charge to visit. Buildings are restored nicely and there is a small museum. We took a ghost tour and had a very knowledgeable docent in period dress.
