Maybe it is because I am here for the ceramics symposium, maybe it is the great art and food at the openings...but I think it is because the shows are so well curated, and the museum itself strives to be assessable and accommodating to everyone, all walks of life! I am never disappointed when I come to the museum. Cudos!!!

Traveled to San Angelo to hear an old friend perform with the West Texas Jazz Orchestra. The venue was the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts. WTJO performed a GREAT program of 1940s and 1950s jazz band music. Great fun! Before and after the concert, I visited the museum galleries. Ceramics are a big part of their focus, mostly contemporary.... More

This art museum is housed in a truly unique building. Once you see it, you will not forget it. It's distinctive shape and roof line can be seen from many parts of the city. It appears in the shape of a giant Conestoga covered wagon. When we visited, there were 4 gallery's on display. We were told the exhibits change... More

This is a very nice museum in a beautiful building - when I think of fine arts, I think of paintings. This museum helped me realize that fine arts encompasses much more than that. There had been a recent judged event, so enjoyed reading the plaques that explained which pieces of art had been recognized. Would love to stop in... More

This museum always has interesting temporary exhibits and combined with the permanent exhibits, e.g., ceramics and pottery, they are all very eclectic and worth seeing. The building itself is quite unique and the museum's website has a great description of its architecture.

The museum offers a great place for business and pleasure events. I love the space and views. For San Angelo, it's can feel upscale or laid back. A cute find in a place where there is not much else.

A very large museum for this size city and some very nice art work with an emphasis on pottery and sculpture. I was not impressed with the paintings. The staff was very cordial and helpful.

This is a wonderful museum. One of the best in the state and perhaps the country. This isn't some small town tourist trap, it's a true world class museum. The staff is outstanding, the exhibits are world class and the contribution to local ambiance is magnificent. This is worth a stop for any visitor to the community.

We were pleasantly surprised at the San Angelo Museum of Fine Arts' collection. A small museum, but nice pieces. Definitely worth a visit. Within walking distance of Concho River and mermaid statue.

Took my granddaughters to this and the children's museum next door and they had a blast they were fascinated by the art then made mask in the children's museum. We then walked around the river walk which was a beautiful walk. Can't wait to go again!
