I have just finished touring the Caverns of Sonora for the fourth time. Each time I have taken a new person to the cavern. I have been to many different caves/caverns through the U.S. of A. and have toured what is renowned as the east...More

We stayed on site with our camper which was very nice by itself. A heard of about 20 dear grazed and passed through the site during our stay. $25 with power and water. The caves were far better than we expected. The price for our...More

This is a real attraction and well worth the drive to Sonora Texas. A couple of things-it is a warm cave with lots of stairs. Dress light-they won’t let you wear a jacket or have it tied around your body. If you are not up...More

We camped here for one night and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The campgrounds were quiet and in a very nice setting. The cave tour itself was wondrous. Being from Missouri I have been in a lot of caves over the years. This cave is the most...More

The cavern is beautiful, so many different formations. It is very humid so shorts, tee and good walking shoes is all you need. Nothing but your camera is allowed in the cave. The tour is done in small groups which is great but our guide...More

The kiddoes loved this cave. Our tour guide Colton was very patient and eager to answer questions and share knowledge. They mean it when they recommend light t-shirts and good grip shoes. It gets pretty warm. Being a senior in moderate shape, I was worried...More

A neat place to visit/experience. Tour is very informational. Would recommend for ages 6+ due to the need to not touch things. (Tour guide often reminded us of the fine and possible consequence for touching or harming parts of the cave.) Not a great distance...More

Yes, there are hand rails. There are many steps in the tour so be sure you are physically able to climb them all before you go.

They don’t accept reservations. We arrived just before noon and had our pick of sites. Not many, maybe 10. Electric and water, $25/night. (PS Cavern is GORGEOUS!)
