Ila Loetscher, the "Turtle Lady of South Padre Island", originally formed our organization to save the Kemp's ridley sea turtle in 1977. Now we are a sea turtle hospital with a mission to rehabilitate and release any injured sea turtles, increase awareness concerning their safety and habitat, and assist with conservation efforts for all sea turtle species. We are funded by donations, grants and gift shop proceeds-- For rehabilitated sea turtle and hatchling release text message notifications, please see our website membership page. See you at Sea Turtle, Inc.!

Very fun for little kids. They gave a brief presentation to the group and then followed that by allowing everyone to look at all the tanks and watch the turtles eat.

The new plans for this place look AMAZING! Not sure how long Sea Turtle Inc. has been in this location but I can tell it has been here many, many years. There are periodic educational talks which are truly wonderful. Walking around might not be...More

We went to the Sea Turtle hospital. It's great to see them so up close. But you can't touch them. There is a doctor who is giving a class on how they care for the sea turtles, but my kids were not interested. They just...More

This organization does very admirable work. They work hard to try and save the endangered Ridley Turtle that was almost hunted to extinction in the first half of the century. There were many tanks with turtles in various states of recovery. Many turtles that were...More

We didn't stay more than 15 minutes, but we got the cutest video of our trip with the huge turtle (the same kind as Crush in Nemo) coming over to say hi to us in his window and frantically clapping his flippers as if in...More

We loved this place! It is a hospital for injured sea turtles that have been rescued off of the beach. The ones that are healthy enough are on display. Some are able to be put back into the wild, while others are life-long residents. Allison...More

Cold, wet, all tanks were covered understandably so. Gift shop was a bust and they desperately need to update and restock shirts/ sweaters. We got to see three turtles through observation tanks. No fee to visit but donations accepted
