Went with my kids and our lab. Everyone had so much fun skipping rocks and splashing around in the river. They also have a small playground with a slide and swing set. I definitely want to get a state pass so I can jog some of the nice trails.

Since this park is so close to San Antonio, the 7th largest city in the U.S., I was not surprised by the size of the "day use" parking lot. It is a popular spot for tubing, kayaking, and canoeing. They have 12 hiking trails, 6 of which are "easy", 4 are "moderate", and 2 are "moderate to challenging". We hiked... More

Only minutes from San Antonio, this beautiful park is well maintained and family friendly. Lots of walking/hiking trails and of course the lovely river. Kids and adults enjoy fishing and wading in the limestone riverbed covered by cool clear water.

This is one of my favorite state parks to go hiking and play in the water. It is awesome that it is only 25 minutes away from my house. The trails are very well maintained and you can get a good hike in for an hour or so. I have also camped overnight here and the facilities were close by... More

The campsites had nice flat compressed sandy spaces for tents and lots of trees. We were there for three days and two nights January 1-3. We like the park, but the bathrooms were really dirty. On the 1st, I thought it was due to a full park during the holidays, but two days later, the trash and floors had not... More

we arrived New Years Eve 930pm... gates close at 10pm. Office closed. there was a permanent sign stating no open sites. We did talk to some others who said there were a couple of sites open... we drove in, the park host said, "Yes, we have 4 sites open" and escorted us to the one we stayed. The next morning... More

This is my Texas "Beach" Cool quick running water. Soft stone entry along the Guadalupe River. Rock face layers across from beach. Definitely wear water shoes. Nice BBQ and Picnic areas by the River and up above by the parking. Camping sites are away from the river and just that camping sites.

Seems to be very family friendly. Pretty park, very peaceful. Easy trails, nothing extravagant, but nice.

A very pretty place to relax and recharge. The hiking trails are also beautiful but not well signed. Lots of quite shady spots on a hot day.
