Volunteers on hand are dressed in clothing of the period. Walk the grounds and 1800s buildings at your leisure. At lunchtime a small meal is prepared for the volunteers on site using wood stoves, and local sources food. Interesting and educational place that blends into...More

Its a short walk out from the LBJ visitors center and definitely worth doing. There are a couple different houses depicting different points in time in Texas rural life. Its still a working farm with vegetables being grown and animals. The wood burning stove was...More

We brought our granddaughter here, and she loved it! She is 7. She was interested in all aspects of the farm...but we were careful to not point out the inevitable fate of the animals. She was thrilled to be invited into the hen house to...More

Relax, put on your work clothes, sit on the porch, watch the farm animals meander and grass grow. Great place for family, friends and visitors.

At this historic farm you'll go back to the time of milking cows, churning butter and hand-tooling farm implements. This is a fun place to take the younger generations. Even though the volunteers are dressed in period costumes, they are doing real farm chores and...More

The farmstead is on the self-guided driving tour that takes you to the Texas White House, etc. People in period dress provide information of life in the area when LBJ was a young boy. Interesting and informative. Worth the time.

This living history farm is probably the highlight of a visit to LBJ State Park. It is an easy .2 mile walk from the visitor center to the farm. The farm is a representation of a 1915 era German farm in rural Texas. The farmhouse,...More
